Description
About the Product
The Tripper RCCB 40A DP 240V AC 100mA is a high-quality Residual Current Circuit Breaker (RCCB) designed to provide dependable protection against earth leakage faults. It is specifically suited for applications where equipment safety & fire prevention are a priority rather than direct human shock protection.
With a 40A current rating & 100mA residual current sensitivity, this RCCB helps protect electrical systems from insulation failures & leakage currents that could lead to hazardous conditions. The double pole (DP) configuration ensures simultaneous disconnection of both phase & neutral conductors, delivering complete circuit isolation during fault situations.
How the RCCB Works
The RCCB operates by continuously monitoring current flow between phase & neutral:
• Detects imbalance caused by leakage currents
• Identifies current flowing outside the intended circuit (earth leakage)
• Trips automatically when leakage exceeds 100mA
• Disconnects both phase & neutral simultaneously
• Helps reduce fire risk & protects electrical equipment
This ensures stable system performance & enhances electrical safety.

FAQs
1. What is an RCCB?
Ans: An RCCB is a device that protects against earth leakage currents but does not provide overload or short circuit protection.
2. What does 100mA sensitivity mean?
Ans: It means the RCCB trips when leakage current exceeds 100mA, typically used for equipment safety & fire prevention.
3. What does DP mean?
Ans: DP (Double Pole) means both phase & neutral are disconnected simultaneously.
4. Does this RCCB protect against overload?
Ans: No, RCCBs do not provide overload or short circuit protection. An MCB is required separately for those protections.
5. Where is a 40A 100mA RCCB used?
Ans: It is used in circuits requiring equipment protection & fire prevention, such as distribution boards & commercial installations.
6. Why use 100mA instead of 30mA RCCB?
Ans: 100mA RCCBs are used mainly for fire protection & equipment safety, while 30mA RCCBs are designed for personal protection against electric shock.
7. How is this RCCB installed?
Ans: It is installed on a DIN rail inside a distribution board or electrical panel.
